This article is for the sole purpose of ensuring you are buying your perfect diamond at its true value- buying smarter. We are Glaze Diamonds, a diamond company with diamond experts who work with a mission to provide the best value to our clients and ensure transparency, and trust and we respect the time of our clients.

Now on to how we help you. In this article, we will go over a few key points that will help you be more aware of factors to help you make your decision (spoiler- these are more than just the 4Cs):

->Diamond certificate

->Don’t miss out on investing in value

->Diamond Branded Stores vs Diamonds Dealers

->Beware of frauds

Of course, there are the standard things you must know before you purchase diamonds such as the 4Cs, reading the diamond certificate and more. You can read more about these things here:

Diamond Certificate

Don’t completely rely on the diamond certificate. This would raise a few eyebrows, but the truth is diamonds can be graded and certified by having characteristics labelled on them, however, once you see the diamond in real life it is a different story.

In all our supplier or customer meetings we insist on seeing or them viewing the diamond. A very good characteristic on paper could be a poor-looking diamond in real life and a similar sentiment for an okay characteristic diamond.

Don’t miss out on investing in value

Diamonds aren’t just a beauty to behold but hold a return on investment as well. Only certain diamonds possess investment value, including specific fancy coloured diamonds and large ct white diamonds.

To ensure the diamond along with its characteristics is legitimate and worth the investment, it would be best to consult a diamond dealer or an investment expert who would be able to give you the projection over the years.

Diamond Branded Stores vs Diamond Dealers

Branded stores bring in a lot of customers because of the popularity of the brand. However in addition prices for the brand name, the stores, the employees and much more get added on to the price of diamonds by the businesses making diamonds much more expensive.

Diamond Dealers on the other hand operate separately and on a consignment basis with access to diamond stock all over the world. They tend to operate with close to the actual prices of the diamonds and don’t have a high commission added to it. We suggest contacting a diamond dealer that you trust and buying diamonds through them.

Beware of frauds

Unfortunately, we are at this moment in the industry where there have been a few frauds with natural and lab-grown diamonds, where one is being sold as the other. Always make sure to get a second opinion or go to an authority that you trust to ensure you are paying the right price.

Lab-grown diamonds, since they are man-made are of less value compared to natural diamonds and as of recently have shown a drastic drop in prices. To learn more about the marketing situation and the investment side of diamonds drop your questions below.

Tip: Look at diamonds at .9 ct below the ct you are looking for. For example, if you are looking for a 5 ct diamond, look for a 4.9 ct diamond with similar characteristics. It would look almost the same to the naked eye however the price points are significantly different.
